Upon adding the extension to your Chrome browser, you can start taking advantage of the add-on's functions right away. Go to any page, right-click the text you want to emphasize, hover over the Super Simple Highlighter entry in the context menu, then pick the color you want for the highlighting.

The available colors are red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, purple, and gray, which helps when you want to differentiate certain passages. Depending on the page, it's not always possible to emphasize the text — as a silly example, we couldn't highlight any sentences from the Chrome Web Store.

A neat feature of this add-on lies in its capability to remember the highlighted text. It may not be available everywhere due to how certain websites operate, but it's nevertheless worth mentioning. We tested it, and on sites such as APNews, the tool successfully recalled what we'd highlighted even after restarting the browser.

To access your highlights, click the extension's toolbar icon, and you'll see a list of the emphasized passages. You can sort them by date, position, and style, and exporting as Markdown is also possible. As an experimental feature, the Backup function is also of note.
