Time Progress

As humans, we are all very different and unique in a lot of meaningful aspects even though most of us tend to share almost the same social behavior. These differences are visible in everything from the way we talk, the way we go about our day, and the way we dress, but also in the way we stay productive.

Of course, a simple Google search will flood your browser with bulky guides on how to improve productivity. Some may prefer to meditate, others to schedule everything into a calendar, others will abuse the Pomodoro technique. However, for others, staying productive could be as simple as knowing the progress of time; i.e. how much of the year, month, week, or day has passed.

If you happen to feel the same way, then we recommend opening your Chrome browser, going to the Chrome Web Store, and installing Time Progress, as it does just that. To be more precise, each time you open a new tab in Chrome, Time Progress displays how much of the year, month, week, and day is left in percentages, as well as how many days are left until the end of the current year, month, and week, and how many hours until the day is over.

Considering its simple nature and minimalist looks, one should not expect much in terms of customization. However, Time Progress does provide you with the option of adding your name in the Settings section (which will be displayed each time you open a new tab), as well as choosing between 4 built-in GUI themes (and there’s even a Dark one for poorly lit environments).

While not exactly revolutionary, Time Progress is a stylish and potentially nice-to-have extension. It will not make you more productive in a direct way, but it can, quite efficiently, remind you two important things: 1. Time passes and you’ll never going to get it back and 2. Never forget your goals for this year, and don’t forget that each day, week, and month is an opportunity to work for a better self.
