ChatGPT for Google for Firefox

After its launch at the end of 2022, ChatGPT became the fastest-growing app in the world. Not just that its number of users grew exponentially, but developers started to use the ChatGPT API to integrate AI functionality into other apps.

Also available for Chrome, ChatGPT for Google is a browser extension for Mozilla Firefox that makes it possible to access the ChatGPT bot while querying the Google search engine. ChatGPT’s responses are shown in Google’s page, right alongside the regular search results.

The extension is easily installed in Firefox and, after a few seconds, a new button is displayed in the upper toolbar, right next to the address bar. The add-on is instantly activated but note that you will have to login to your ChatGPT/OpenAI account to be able to use it.

Once logged in, simply navigate to Google and type in your question. Despite its name, ChatGPT for Google also works with other search engines, such as Baidu, Bing, DuckDuckGo, Brave, Yahoo, Naver, Yandex, Kagi and Searx.

You will notice that a ChatGPT small window is displayed right next to the search results in Google or any of the other search engines that are supported. You can configure the extension’s trigger mode: ChatGPT can be queried on every search or just when the query ends with a question mark. Alternatively, the addon can be configured to only access ChatGPT upon request.

During our tests, it happened that the ChatGPT for Google extension was not able to display its ChatGPT query response from the start, so we had to copy and paste the question in the ChatGPT query window. Even so, the extension makes it possible to have ChatGPT at hand when submitting your questions to Google.

ChatGPT for Google for Firefox takes advantage of OpenAI’s API and the power of artificial intelligence to view the response of ChatGPT right alongside Google’s search results. You can easily compare the results given by the search engine with the ones shown to you by ChatGPT and get the information that is more useful to you.
