Default Bookmark Folder

Internet browsers, including Firefox, have multiple bookmark folders. Whenever users try to save a specific site, they have to choose one of them. Default Bookmark Folder is an extension for Firefox that allows us to select a default folder where to save our favorite webpages.

The add-on comes for free, and it is quite useful when you use one specific bookmark folder more than the others. You can set the app to save each new bookmark in that folder with just one click. To do that, go to the extension's Settings menu by clicking its toolbar icon. Once there, access the Quick Bookmarking section and enable the Quick Bookmark Icon. On the left of Firefox's default star-looking icon for saving favorite sites, you will see another one. When you want to bookmark a website quickly, just click that icon, and the Default Bookmark Folder extension will do it. Also, it comes with a shortcut so that users can bookmark pages even faster.

In addition to allowing users to select a specific folder for quickly bookmarking websites, the extension also permits users to change Firefox's default options regarding bookmarks. Accordingly, you can also set the browser to save your favorite sites in a specific folder. Thanks to that, you can set two folders for quickly bookmarking different categories of websites — one handled by Firefox and another managed by Default Bookmark Folder.

The extension is a nice addition to Firefox, works smoothly, but additional features would make it excellent. For example, it would be great to have more icons and set one folder for each of them. Unfortunately, the add-on lacks this feature. In conclusion, it is easy to use, reliable, and quite helpful, overall. Some extra functions would be welcome, and I hope that the next versions will bring some new features.
