Error indicator

If you are a long-time Firefox user, you might have gone through a lot of crashed pages or errors that would hinder your browsing routine. Fixing such anomalies is a job for the browser's developers only, but sniffing out possible errors on the pages you are landing on is possible with Error indicator —  a lightweight extension that highlights all errors caught by the global error event and console.error service.

Error indicator uses the dynamic between icon and UI to give you an accurate representation of page status. For example, an error-free page can be identified by the green checkmark symbol the add-on's icon displays. At the opposite end, the icon will turn red, pointing out the fact that one or more errors were detected. Also, a small tag with the error count is applied over the red indicator.

Clicking the icon will reveal the lightweight UI. The picked-up errors are going to be listed along with a description, URL, a file path for file-related issues, date, and time. Clear out the entries with the Remove errors button, and switch the extension on and off.

What an error represents when accessing a page is the incoming message emitted through the global error event, console.error  API assets, and web requests completed with HTTP status code.

As its name suggests, Error indicator deals with error reports only, not fixing them. While this sounds a bit off-putting, some users might be able to solve certain issues just by having the problem highlighted.

In conclusion, Error indicator is a neat add-on that points out page errors when using Firefox. Keeping your browsing session as clean as possible and warning you about faulty pages is what this extension seems to have been designed for.
