Listen.Moe hasn’t been around for too long, but the online radio station already has an impressive number of followers, and its song library is getting larger every day. For the most part, it streams Japanese, j-pop, anime and utaite music.

Listen.Moe Client, as you can probably tell from its name, is a desktop client for the radio station, enabling you to enjoy the streamed music without using a web browser. It is very well designed, only needing a couple of small improvements.

The project was started by the developer with the intent of replacing music stored locally, but it has since evolved into a popular radio station that serves thousands of songs. Aside from the web-based service and Windows client, a dedicated Android app and Chrome extension are also available.

Users can listen to music, add songs to their Favorite lists and even submit music. Songs can be requested from the web app, but only a selected group of users benefit from this feature at present.

Listen.Moe Client enables you to stream songs directly from your desktop, thus freeing up a browser tab and allowing you to control your music from a minimalistic widget.

The player can be moved to any position on your desktop, and it even snaps to the edges of your screen. You can use Ctrl+scroll and Alt+scroll to customize the look of the visualizer, and the audio volume can also be changed with the mouse wheel.

What’s more, if you want the radio player to be less obtrusive, you can minimize it to the system tray and control playback from the context menu.

On the whole, Listen.Moe Client is certainly a great application for fans of the radio station, as it lets you listen to your favorite music using a small, unobtrusive desktop player.

You can even use this application to add songs to your Favorite list after logging in, but it is not possible to request songs or see your listening history without visiting the website. Also, no alternative interface themes are available.
