If you’re either a great sports fan, watching closely for matches and results in different sports, or involved with sports betting and studying probabilities and potential score outcomes, having access to sports data is crucial. Platforms such as sportsdata.io, offer unhindered access to such information, in real-time, and allow for a very insightful look into the world of sports and the data that stems from it. NFL Stats will tackle the requirements of testing sportsdata.io feed information.

This command-line-based application was designed with the purpose of providing users with means to test consuming of sportsdata.io NFL feeds. In order to do so, they will, however, first need to obtain an API key for the aforementioned website, and then use it to create a new .ENV format file at the root of the project.

A series of pre-defined options will be prompted when running the executable with the “–h”, offering users a glimpse into the functionality of the app, all the corresponding commands, and the required syntax.

For instance, in order to perform API requests, which support JSON, Pretty Print, or Table export options, users can specify the official team abbreviations, such as “dal”, “ari”, etc., and preview the print return.
