In this day and age, there's so much going on in the world that staying informed means keeping on top of the news, and that's not exactly the easiest of tasks. Critical thinking must be employed when reading the news, which is why perusing multiple sources is required.

How do you catch up on the news, then? You could visit the sites of your preferred news providers from time to time, but it's not the most efficient process. A tool like FeedLab can bring everything together for you: create feeds based on topics, select your favorite providers, and keep on top of the latest developments.

This is an app targeted for a wide user demographic, and its ease-of-use reflects that. As it hails from the Microsoft Store, the installation is handled automatically, so users can start using the program without any complications.

When first booting it up, you can choose to create an account, or continue unregistered. Due to the way the feeds work, registering is worth it, especially as the process was over and done for us in less than 20 seconds. Still, you can use the app perfectly fine while unregistered: check what the most reputable sources report in your fields of interest, and read up on the latest developments.

Upon registering, you'll be able to tailor your newsfeed: select the main categories you want to follow, then add your preferred news providers. You can organize everything by grouping the providers: for instance, we created a Fun Stuff section, where we had the latest reports from the entertainment industry, and a Serious Stuff section, where world and financial news releases would appear.

If you see something that catches your eye, you can mark it and save it for later, and the program will categorize it accordingly. What's more, there are different reading modes: there's a headline view, a summary view, and you can also access the provider's site directly through the app, without having to open your browser. Alternatively, you can also have the article read out loud to you via the built-in Narrator function.

FeedLab does what it's supposed to, and does it well: having numerous news sources under one interface is very convenient, which makes following the latest reports easier than ever.
