If you’re looking for information about your favorite TV series, such as air dates, episode numbers and episode names, epguides.com is a good place to start. The website relies on an extensive database, and it features a very simple layout.

Fenix Epguides Manager is an open-source utility that aims to let you access this information directly from your desktop. It can certainly prove useful, but it could use some improvements.

While there are a few things that can be improved, it is worth keeping in mind just how easy this application is to deploy, as you are not required to install anything beforehand, provided .NET Framework is already available.

The program comes in a very lightweight package, as it consists of a single executable file that can be opened from any location. You also don’t need to worry about any files or registry entries being left behind after running it.

As you can see from the screenshot, Fenix Epguides Manager features a simplistic and somewhat outdated user interface. In order to get information about a series, you need to type its name and click the List button, as pressing Enter does not seem to trigger a search.

Unfortunately, we had some trouble getting information for some series, as they are only recognized if their exact name is provided. Searching for a certain show can prove difficult.

Also, unlike the website, Fenix Epguides Manager does not provide you with any information aside from the episode number, air date and title.

This program is not particularly impressive, as it only provides basic functionality and looks somewhat outdated. It can definitely prove useful, but in most cases, it is probably still a better idea to just get the information you need directly from the web.
