If you have a Facebook account, then you are probably familiar with the idea of a watch party. This is a fairly simple concept that enables you to watch live videos three times longer than the pre-recorded ones, while you and your friends can all enjoy and comment on the action or topic together.

Watch Party is an extension for Firefox and Chrome that aims to bring the concept to Netflix and DisneyPlus channels. Simply put, by adding this extension you will be able to binge watch your favorite series with your friends regardless of their location.

Even though after the installation, you should be able to view a new control in the top right corner or if you move your mouse around. You can get started by clicking on it and, in case you are not already in a shared viewing session, you can get an invite link to send to your friends. Once they hit the link, all users invited automatically join the party and start watching with you.

The extension can communicate with both the players and your party. If anyone pauses, plays or does any other action, the information is relayed to the rest of the viewers in the party.

It is important to note that in order to enjoy the fun viewing experience, everyone needs to have their own accounts. After all, the extension solely relays your controls, but the content is still coming from either Netflix or DisneyPlus. It goes without saying that everyone you invite also needs to have the extension included in their browser.
