Sharing your desktop is perhaps the easiest it’s ever been. Whether to provide tech support, host a presentation, or simply collaborate with your team, such solutions are now accessible to anyone, regardless of their experience level.

ClonaDesk is a new software proposition whose aim is to provide a tool that is simple to work with, while not compromising any core features. This goal is in line with the program’s modern design, which makes it readily accessible and easy to operate.

While alternatives would normally require an ID and password to authorize a connection, this one does away with the password entirely. When someone connects via your ID, you’re in charge of managing permissions: prior to approving a connection, you can configure the guest user’s prerogatives.

Aside from granting the guest full access, there’s also the option to opt for a download or view-only session. Alternatively, you may also configure custom permissions, such as not allowing the guest to use the mouse or keyboard, and so on.

Once a connection has been established, it’s business as usual. Even if you’ve never used other remote connection utilities in the past, acclimating to this one should be fairly easy, as the sidebar will display all the features of interest.

As stated earlier, the sidebar readily displays a series of functionalities intended for various purposes. You can chat with the host computer, exchange files with them, capture screenshots, and more.

The Tools menu incorporates some shortcuts that can facilitate your work. These include the Command Prompt, Notepad, Control Panel, and Task Manager, among others.

There’s also a System Performance menu in which the guest can inspect the host computer’s performance metrics.

ClonaDesk doesn’t particularly provide anything new over its alternatives, but even so, it’s a solid, reliable screen sharing tool whose modern design and overall simplicity are important assets that can make it worthy of your consideration.
