K2 Screen Sharing

Whether you want to show anyone how to carry out a task or simply look at photos or watch a clip together with a friend, a simple screen sharing tool such as K2 Screen Sharing might be the tool you need.

With a bit of help from this lightweight application, you can easily share the desktop activity with anyone who has a web browser and, frankly, who doesn’t?

Delivered as a free, portable application available to anyone, K2 Screen Sharing makes it easy for you to share your screen with practically anyone. The application features a one-window interface with simple options, all bundled inside the main GUI, with no additional menus and options to explore.

There are, however, a few configuration options that you need to go through before being able to share the screen. K2 Screen Sharing allows you to set the port number and configure the speed, set up the URL (localhost to share in the local network), and customize the title of the session. A short memo can be added to easily identify the session.

The mouse pointer can be optionally shared along with the desktop, which makes K2 Screen Sharing suitable for giving hands-on instructions and tutorials. By default, the entire desktop is shared, in color or in grayscale, but you can also configure K2 Screen Sharing to only share half of the screen.

Once all these settings are configured, hit the “Start” button to begin desktop sharing. Please be aware that K2 Screen Sharing might need to be added as an exception to the Windows’ firewall.

With K2 Screen Sharing, sharing the screen with others is more than easy. Once started, the application allows anyone with the target remote URL to view the activity on your desktop in real time.
