XwRemote

Released under an open-source license, XwRemote is a versatile multi-protocol remote client that can handle simultaneous connections. Its versatility is due to the assortment of protocols it is compatible with, as well as in the well-thought server manager and tab-based terminal window.

The server manager provides a centralized dashboard where users can handle all their connections. They can create different groups (folders) to categorize connections and keep everything organized. Folders can be renamed or deleted, and connections can be moved from one group to another using drag and drop.

The application comes with support for a variety of protocols. It can be used to connect to multiple servers, including SSH, FTP, and SFTP, or initiate RDP, AWS S3 Buckets, VNC, and Azure sessions. You can create such connections or start a new IE session from the server manager.

Creating a new connection requires users to fill in the login details and go through a series of configuration options, which usually involves providing a port number or special security details (e.g., certificates), and checking a few advanced settings related to data encryption and the terminal's appearance.

To make it easier for users to access and load new sessions, XwRemote comes with a Favorites section where frequently accessed servers can be stored. Moreover, each session, which opens in a separate tab, can have a different color.

One of the main advantages of an application such as XwRemote is that it helps users run multiple remote sessions using a single application. The array of supported protocols makes it worth trying, especially since each connection is displayed in a separate tab.
