Active Directory Explorer (ADExplorer)

As its name implies, Active Directory Explorer or, in short, ADExplorer, is a dedicated viewer and editor for Active Directory users. It enables you to browse your Active Directory databases from a single interface, which displays schemas and configurations in an organized manner.

With its help, you can browse objects, view their properties, change database permissions and run searches within the database. It allows you to check out object properties and attributes without opening secondary windows or dialog boxes.

Once connected to your domain, Active Directory Explorer enables you to browse the database freely. You should know that the application keeps track of your actions as you explore the database structure, all because it comes with navigation buttons to help you jump backwards or forward. A list of favorite locations can also be built with ease.

Selecting an object reveals all its attributes. Active Directory Explorer displays the object properties, security permissions and the schema it belongs to. Objects can be deleted or renamed and new objects can be added to the Active Directory database, with a specific name, type and set of attributes. In turn, attributes can also be edited, deleted or added in Active Directory Explorer.

The application comes with advanced search capabilities, using attributes as criteria. Searches can be saved so that you can run them once again whenever needed.

But not only searches can be saved. Active Directory Explorer can create snapshots of the entire database for offline viewing and analysis. Exploring an offline database is no different than opening a live one, with all the options related to searches.   Two snapshots of the same database can be easily compared to highlight all the changes in terms of objects, attributes or permissions. Differences are listed when the comparison is complete.
