There are many applications on the Internet that are designed for various professions and hobbies. One of such applications is ODBC Query Tool.
It's a nice tool packed with multiple features for working with several databases, including Microsoft Access to MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, SQLite databases and more, using ODBC drivers.
The application doesn't take long to install and it doesn't come with a complicated setup that you would need to complete before you can use all of its features. It comes with a really intuitive graphical interface packed with multiple tools and options that you can check out.
The first thing that you need to do after launching the application is to create an ODBC connection. Simply provide the connection string, username, password and file name.
You have the option to browse your computer and find queries to load inside the application. There's a feature that allows you to work with multiple SQL queries at the same time, by using tabs.
You can run scripts and check query results easily. You can copy certain rows to your clipboard and save scripts on your computer easily.
It comes with some settings that you can adjust, the application allows you to toggle grid view or text output and use the data source administrator. You can add users, adjust the system DSN, connect to a certain data provider and manage drivers installed on your computer.
You can enable the tracing feature, start Visual Studio analyzer and pick the log file path, aside from the custom trace dll. Some settings can be made to connection pooling, which allows an application to reuse open connection handles, which saves round-trips to the server.
ODBC Query Tool is a very nice application for connecting to and working with several different database systems.
