If the databases and applications you’re working with have become obsolete or are starting to show signs of incompatibility with newer solutions, migration and conversion operations can make for a worthwhile possibility to consider. Through such means, users can effectively move over their content without any risks.

Fortunately, programs to streamline this process exist to make life easier. Ispirer Toolkit is a solution made up of nGLFly and SQLWays, which are two wizards designed to thoroughly handle the migration or conversion of applications and databases. The selection is wide enough to cover the needs of a variety of uses and users: Oracle, DB2, and PostgreSQL are just a few of the available options, among others.

The program offers an option to those who seek to move to newer databases and applications. To facilitate the process whereby one carries over their data, both the nGLFly and SQLWays wizards provide a practical, no-nonsense interface, through which users can configure their migration and conversion options every step of the way.

As such, the interface is very much similar between the two wizards, which I found to be a good design decision. Starting out, you’ll initially have to select the relevant files, after which you’ll be able to configure the options for the source and target database or application. In the case of the latter, users have the choice to select the software platform, programming language, and type for a smooth process.

Before commencing a migration or conversion process in either of the wizards, you may check the Generate Detail Report function, which can help keep you posted with regard to the goings-on of the procedure.

Advanced users can choose to edit the Project and Options files, accessible through the Summary Page menu. As for executing the migration or conversion, the program should be relatively quick, but this may vary between systems.

Made up of two programs, both of which serve to address slightly different needs for users, Ispirer Toolkit is a package that should prove to be effective in dealing with moving over to newer databases and applications.
