OpenDBViewer

As its name makes it quite clear, OpenDBViewer is a fairly straightforward piece of software that allows you to explore SQLite, MySQL, and PostgreSQL databases. Even simpler, it allows you to view the contents of your databases, navigate the objects within it and open them for more details.

Straight off the bat, you're bound to notice that this is by no means a full-featured database utility. Even so, it's worth pointing out that the application does sport a multi-tab GUI which allows you to work with tables and worksheets alike, and that it also comes with support for SQL syntax highlighting.

The GUI itself is quite simplistic, and so is its layout. Basically, the app's main window consists out of a minimalist menubar, a structure tree view panel that allows you to browse the database objects on the left and a typical multi-tab viewer that enables you to work with multiple entries at the same time (on the right side).

Getting started with this application is also a fairly simple process. Just let yourself be guided by the wizard-based installation process, launch the app and fill in the database connection credentials.

Taking everything into account, OpenDBViewer offers beginner administrators a quick and convenient way of browsing their MySQL, SQLite, and PostgreSQL databases on their Windows or Linux PCs, as well as on their Macs.

Of course, some advanced users might prefer this app as well, since there's no denying that it does its job very well, but of course, without losing sight of the app's relatively simple functionality. The most obvious drawbacks are that the app's database support is rather slim, and the fact that it doesn't provide any database object filtering options.
