I am following is a series of three scripts that can help SharePoint 2013 users to follow nearly everything in their server environment in a quick and convenient manner, without making use of the MySite function.

SharePoint 2013 made it possible for its users to follow various things in the server, but retrieving a list of items that are being followed could only be done by using the My Site function, which can give a limited overall feel to the whole operation.

This software solution bypasses the procedure explained above by using a REST API call in order to retrieve data regarding things that are being followed by a certain user.

I am following lets users retrieve a JSON result set that contains data about which persons, documents and sites a certain user is following. By using the JSON result and some jQuery operations, it is possible to generate a WebPart that encompasses the extracted data and displays it in list or METRO modes.

It is advised to use only one of the three scripts available to download. The "List" script shows data as an organized list, the METRO one displays data METRO-style, while the "Switched" script enables users to switch between the previous two styles.
