Convert Office 2003 file-types (.doc, .xls) to .pdf and .xps #Document Converter #Doc to PDF #Excel to XPS #MOSS #Converter #Doc2PDF
Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) Document Converter will work with Word & Excel 2007 on the server.
Converting Office 2003 file-types (.doc, .xls) to .pdf and .xps could easily be altered to work for .docx and .xlsx file-types.
Desktop Automation on the Server: Previously, using office 2003 on the server to print out PDF files had problems. For example, if a dialog box pops up and no user is there to click 'ok' the instance will not close, additional conversions launch additional instances until the server grinds to a halt. And 3rd party print drivers can get jammed up at high volume.
These long standing problems seem a lot better with Office 2007 than with Office 2003. Aside from the built in 'export to pdf' functionality in Office 2007, I am not sure what all is different. I suspect that the com interop assemblies manage the offices resources better in Office 2007.
Requirements:
■ Requires Word 2007 to be installed on the server ■ Microsoft Office SharePoint Server
