NginxTray

Considering that it can handle a high number of simultaneous connections, NGINX is commonly used as a reverse proxy and load balancer by most web servers. NginxTray is a tiny application developed to simplify things even further by allowing the management of NGINX with a click of a button.

As anyone using NGINX can attest, the web server typically runs in the background without any indicator except for the ps in the Task Manager. The tool can act as a visual indicator.

The utility does not have an interface per se, but rather it can be accessed directly from the System Tray. Functionality wise, the application is as simple to use as it looks, especially since it does not involve too much configuration. Following the download, it is recommended to extract the archive in the NGINX folder and set the path. Now, the web server can be started, stopped and restarted safely with a click of a button.

In terms of options, the application permits the enabling of the PHP FastCGI, for which it is necessary to have PHP on the system. After the activation of the option from the Settings, PHP should be able to start and stop the web server.
