SSRS Security Manager

SSRS Security Manager is a security-oriented tool designed for SQL Server Reporting Services that aims to exceed the capabilities of the SSRS Report Manager in terms of functionality. Its goal is to provide users with the means to generate an overview of the security status of the servers and obtain the audited information in a clear-cut report.

Upon launch, SSRS Security Manager prompts users to enter the URL of the web server and the correct credentials to allow authentication. There is no need to access the reporting services database, but the login data must be provided. Additional settings configure SSL, inheritance and timeout-related options.

Once connected to the server, the application displays all the resources in tree-view, color-coding items for a faster and easier identification of inherited security properties, which can be tampered with.

Moreover, one gets access to roles, tasks, users, and groups, which allows the quick implementation of changes, resulting in increased productivity. In other words, users can manage system roles and related tasks much easier.

SSRS Security Manager can help server managers generate comprehensive audit and protocol compliance reports, which can be exported to Excel. Compared to SQL Azure, this whole process is much simpler and faster.
