Z-WAMP

Z-WAMP is a portable software application that includes distribution packages for Apache, MySQL, SQLite and PHP, thus enabling developers to easily deploy it and work on their projects. It does not come equipped with complex options or configuration settings.

There is no setup pack involved, so you can extract the program files to any part of the hard disk and just click the executable to launch Z-WAMP. There is also the possibility to save it to a pen drive or other removable storage unit, in order to run it on any PC with minimum effort and no previous installers.

An important aspect worth taking into account is that, unlike most installers, the program does not modify Windows registry settings, so it does not increase the risk of system stability issues.

Once launched, Z-WAMP creates an icon in the taskbar notifications area and automatically starts the Apache and MongoDB services.

It permits users to modify the configuration text files for Apache Main and vHosts, MySQL, PHP and Windows Hosts. Plus, it records activity to log files that you can inspect at any time for access times or errors (if any).

You can log into MySQL, SQLite 2/3, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MS SQL or MongoDB with administrator credentials, examine APC statistics, as well as retrieve PHP information. Z-WAMP also provides help documentation for Apache, HTML5, JavaScript, MongoDB, MySQL and PHP. Apart from the fact that the program can be asked to automatically run at every Windows startup until further notice, there are no other notable options available here.

No error dialogs were shown in our tests and the software utility did not freeze or crash. It executes commands swiftly and runs on low CPU and memory, so it does not hog system resources. Z-WAMP comes in handy as a portable package for any software developer who builds project by relying on Apache, MySQL, SQLite or PHP.
