Automate the installation of PM2 as a service regardless of whether you work in an environment connected to the Internet using this tool #Install pm2 #Pm2 installer #Pm2 service #Pm2 #Node.js #Service
Developers working with Node.js can take advantage of pm2 to manage their apps better by performing various admin tasks easier and reloading without downtime. If you are regularly working with Node.js, then you may want the pm2 as a service, a feature that is not currently available for Windows for the time being.
pm2-installer is a tool that can help you seamlessly add a registry for pm2 so that it starts after user login. The tool is designed to work even in an environment without an Internet connection. It will not run in the background unless you specifically log into the user interface. Once you log out, the service stops as well, but it does persist throughout reboots.
As an enhancement for Node.js, you need to have the latter installed. Once you grab the tool, simply copy the contents of the archive into the target machine and run the npm run setup command. pm2 works in the background of the Local Service user and it already assumes that you configured npm to use prefix and cache in a location accessible for the aforementioned user. In case you didn’t configure npm, then you will receive a warning and you need to proceed to configuring it.
