Sure enough modern web pages don’t seem to have any code involved at all, with various animations and high-quality elements. However, coding is still at the base of building applications and web pages. If you’re interested in working on your HTML projects in a powerful environment, VisualHTML is sure to help out.

Since the application doesn’t take you through a setup process to make its set of features ready, you can take it for a spin right after download is complete. More than that, you can store it along with your projects on a USB flash drive to be able to edit them on other computers. Registry entries are not modified during runtime.

The interface is pretty large, taking up quite the desktop space by default, with no option to resize it other than to maximize. This is because it bundles both the edit and preview areas in the same window in order to provide a comfortable, clear interface, also helping you focus on your projects.

Needless to say that the main requirement is HTML knowledge. Unfortunately, the application comes with a few tools to help out. Break, headers, paragraphs, bold, italic, and underline are the only code snippets you can insert at the press of a button. There’s no line numbering on the side, not to mention the lack of a syntax highlighter to be able to easily tell functions from variables and plain text.

Preview is not shown in real time, so you need to pause writing and hit the trigger button to have it displayed in the specific section. You can’t have it brought up in your default browser. What’s worse, the only way to save all your work is to manually copy the entire code into a separate program or document.

VisualHTML wants to help visualize the code as you write it, but is heavily underprepared to deliver the set of features as intended. Most effort is invested by you, with a great deal of HTML knowledge required. Files can’t be processed, or saved, and so practicality has a lot to suffer.
