MP3 to WAV Converter

MP3 to WAV Converter is a simple-to-use program with a name that pretty much sums up its functionality - it allows you to turn MP3 files into audio tracks with the Wave format.

The application has an intuitive interface where you can import items by using only the file browser or folder view, since the "drag and drop" functionality is not included. It is possible to work with multiple audio tracks at the same time.

The file queue provides some information about each item, specifically the name, frequency, channel mode, duration, size and status. If you prefer the standard settings, then you can immediately start the conversion task by specifying the output destination.

Otherwise, you can tinker with the audio properties when it comes to the conversion mode. You can opt for CD quality format or best good quality WAV format. But you can also set custom values regarding the sample rate, bits per sample and number of channels. Settings can be restored to default. Unfortunately, you cannot create output profiles. Plus, you can remove an item from the list or clear the entire queue.

The audio processing tool runs on a low-to-moderate amount of CPU and system memory. It finishes a task in short while, has a good response time and delivers a good sound quality. We have not come across any difficulties during our tests.  MP3 to WAV Converter did not freeze, crash or pop up error dialogs.

On the other hand, there is no help file at your disposal and we were unsuccessful in our attempt to modify the output directory (this seems like a difficulty). You cannot configure the tool to automatically turn off the computer after the conversion task or to minimize to the system tray, preview tracks in a built-in audio player or edit ID3 tags. MP3 to WAV Converter has not received any recent updates.
