MeowCdMp3

MeowCdMp3 is a free application you can use to convert CDA-formatted file grabbed from audio CDs to WAV, MP3 or OGG filetype. It offers some advanced encoding options that you can configure.

Installing it takes minimal time and effort, since there are no special settings, prerequisite software products, or third-party components involved.

By the look of the interface, MeowCdMp3 hasn't been updated for a long time. However, its options are easy to spot.

Batch processing is supported, which means that you can convert multiple CDA tracks at the same time. Apart from picking the desired target format, you can specify the saving directory for the new files and ask the tool to remove converted filenames.

Each output extension comes with its own set of customizable encoding settings. For example, in the case of WAV, you can set the bits per sample (8, 16, original), channel mode (channel, mono, original), Wave type (PCM, ACM, DVI ADPCM, MS ADPCM) and sample frequency (e.g. 8,000Hz, 44,100Hz, 88,200Hz).

When it comes to MP3 files, it's possible to establish the bit rate (ranging from 32bps to 320bps), sample rate (ranging from 22kHz to 48kHz), channel mode, minimum and maximum VBR, and quality, Plus, you can run CRC chceckups, write VBR headers, and edit tags (album, artist, year, genre, title, track number, comment).

As far as OGG files are concerned, you can adjust the compression modifier, as well as choose the channel mode along with the preferred nominal, preferred maximum and minimum bit rate.

Too bad that it hasn't been updated for a long time and its interface needs some improvements in the graphical department. Otherwise, MeowCdMp3 gets the job done quickly.
