PSMplayer is a lightweight and easy to use application that enables you to convert MIDI files to various output formats that can work as ring tones for your polyphonic mobile phone.

Designed with simplicity in mind, the user interface only comprises the playback buttons, the navigation arrows, the playlist and the volume adjustment buttons.

The application supports various input files: MIDI files, WAV, M3U playlists, Feelsound files (DXM), P-Melody (ALS, DAT), Cyara-Melody (CMD) or SMAF files, to name some. The output format can be chosen from the 'File' menu from various options: MIDI, WAVE, Feelsound, imelody, au-PMD or SMAF.

Before converting, you can set the ring tone title, enable copy protection, set a file size limit and select the chords number (3, 4, 16, 24, 32, 40), whichever suits your phone model. You can convert the input file as it is or set a conversion range. No matter your choice, the program can send the melody by e-mail (using Outlook) or save it to your PC.

Prior to creating the ring tone, you have the possibility to edit the opened input file. Thus, you can customize its volume settings (master volume level, velocity and the volume for each channel), change the instrument used for every available channel and modify the octave and the drum set options.

In addition to this, you can apply some audio effects to the sound (modulation, stereo, pitchbend), change the channel order and the chords limit, combine all the channels or override the drum channel. Another important feature of the application is that you can create a 3, 4, 8, 12 or 16 chords preview and test it before creating the ring tone.

In conclusion, PSMplayer is a handy tool for every polyphonic mobile phone user out there. After the conversion process is over, all you have to do is download the output file to your phone and choose it as your ring tone.
