Quickly convert RIFF files into SMF format using this command-line tool with a straightforward syntax, which doesn't require setup #RMI to MID #RMI file converter #Convert RMI file #Converter #Convert #RMI2MID
RMI2MID is a command-line application designed to convert RIFF (Resource Interchange File Format) files into SMF (Standard Midi Format). These include codes for musical events with the start of a note, pitch, volume, length, and musical attributes, like vibrato.
RMI are Midi files specific to Microsoft, which can only be played by Windows' proprietary media player. Meanwhile, RIFF files are uncompressed archives with multimedia information. By transforming a RMI file into SMF, it's possible to lift this restriction.
The usage syntax is rmi2mid file.rmi [file.mid]. All you have to do is indicate the source file and format, along with the preferred name of the output file, in addition to its file extension. The encoding procedure is performed immediately.
Batch processing is unsupported, which means that it's not possible to convert multiple selected files or a folder with multiple RMIs at the same time.
The small-sized program is compatible with 32-bit Windows only. If you have 64-bit Windows, you can use a DOS 16-bit emulator, such as DOSBox. It doesn't require installation, so you can save the .exe file anywhere on the disk or on a USB flash drive, in order to call its process from a Command Prompt dialog.
