Audio Editor Plus

As the title of this software suggests, Audio Editor Plus allows you to edit your audio tracks. It supports various media formats, including MP3, AVI, WMA, MPG and CDA.

If you're running Windows 7, make sure to open Audio Editor Plus with administrative rights in order to stop it from displaying various errors during runtime.

The interface of Audio Editor Plus is plain and easy to navigate through. Media files can be imported by using either the file browser or "drag and drop" method.

You can toggle between waveform and spectral view, read file information, as well as change the horizontal and vertical scale format.

You can apply various effects (e.g. invert, reverse, silence, fade, normalize, delay, flanger, reverb, chorus, phaser), add noise, stretch the time, trim and amplify parts of a track, change the sample frequency rate, convert tracks to other audio formats (e.g. MP3, WMA, RAW, OGG), use the undo and redo functions, and more.

In the "Options" section you can set the temporary directory and undo/redo count, change the border type, disable markers, select the scale orientation and type, and others.

Audio Editor Plus runs on a low-to-moderate amount of system resources, includes a brief how-to guide for beginners and didn't freeze or crash during our tests. Putting aside the slightly outdated interface and the fact that it failed to open an AVI file, we strongly recommend Audio Editor Plus to all user levels.
