There is also a toolbar to work with, but it falls short of being useful as it offers nothing new compared to what is already exposed.

Before starting a recording, one must select the sound source, which is usually a microphone. If your setup has only one mic, that will be automatically selected for use. For users with multiple devices, a combo menu is put in place for swapping to the desired one.

While selecting a sound source is enough to start recording, changing some stuff around can impact one's final result. For example, the output format is set to MP3 by default, yet you can change it to WAV or WMA. Choosing a different sample rate is also possible considering there are plenty of options in the range of 8000 and 192000 Hz. Similarly, the bit rate can be adjusted to any value between 24 kbps and 350 kbps.

The app's settings were made to set up conditions for when a recording should stop. One can instruct the app to stop recording after a fixed period like 10 minutes or any other value, or at a designated hour. If you don't care about any of the tweaks, you just have to determine and output location and click Start Record.

Conpsoft MP3Recorder simply provides the means to record for any casual user or otherwise. It comes with three output formats and various choices in terms of sample and bit rates. While it's not the most flashy app out there, it gets the job done without asking for too much time or effort in return.
