Sonic Pi

Sound compositions have been at the center of a multitude of aspects that characterize humanity’s identity, language, and similar aspects. Being able to replicate, create and orchestrate sound in accordance with some set principles, has evolved since the age of the great contemporary composers, and all the way up to today’s AI, which manages to create intricate music. Sonic Pi, however, will address such aspects from a programmer’s perspective, allowing you to use code in order to create and manipulate sound.

This application was designed in order to offer users a specialized tool that can allow them to learn to code, and do so creatively, in order to be able to convert the said code into sound and musical compositions.

Sonic Pi’s deployment encompasses the looks and feel of an IDE, which contains a range of features that address coding, and management of content, as well as dedicated features for recording and previewing the results.

It features support for multi-channel audio input and output, well-timed MIDI control, OSC, as well as Ableton’s Link network metronome, which is built-in. The main working principle of the app will allow users to both write and modify their code live, and preview the results instantly.
