Blackbox

Blackbox is a lightweight application that provides you with an elegant and intuitive environment for processing audio samples to enhance your tracks and add quality to your mix.

The setup entails a simple decompression process and, since it is a standalone app, you can run it from any location you want. Upon launch, you are welcomed by a sleek and stylish interface that is also intuitive and unlikely to give you any troubles.

It is worth mentioning that the tool displays a message that lets you know to drag and drop the track you want to master or use the Browse function to the folder where you store your samples. You can play the audio file and apply the modifications by tweaking the knobs located in the lower section of the interface.

The program comes with several quick mastering options, namely Mastering Quick Win, Vintage 70s, Vintage 80s, Indie and EDM. Afterwards, you can select the portion of the track you want to edit and apply the desired effects, which can include low-frequency cut, sub enhance, body level, clarity, brightness, loudness, compression and quality.

The program allows you to set the loudness release in milliseconds, a longer effect being able to produce a smoother sound. You can configure the stereo roll off frequency to center bass and select the audio device types, output or sample rate from the Options window. On the other hand, the setback is that the application works with only a handful of file formats, namely MP3, WAV and AIFF.
