DJ ProMixer Free Home Edition is a professional-looking tool designed for music lovers who want to create, mix, and play their own version of the tracks they dig. The application itself looks like any other mixer you might end up using out there, however it was tailored with beginners in mind. This is not to say that advanced users won't find this program interesting. On the contrary, it could mean that professionals can save some time by not overcomplicating the whole process.

As you launch the application, you'll immediately notice that there is this club vibe attached to it. First of all, it's all dark and both decks are signaled with bright yellow/green colors. Knobs and lights populate the whole interface, making it look like a futuristic car's dashboard. Regardless, all functions are clearly labeled. This is where the novice magic kicks in. The division of all areas makes sense. Playlists and your computer's file tree are both situated on your left. Two playlists are available, each with its own mix deck.

After filling both lists with music you love, your next task is to allow your creative flow to run wild. For this task, you'll need effects, adjustments, and a sampler, all of which are readily available in the top tool section above the main control switches. All control buttons for both decks are visible and clearly labeled. The main switches that cover both decks are also intuitively placed.

DJ ProMixer Free Home Edition is an application designed for those DJs who have just received their stage name and who dream of becoming big. It does not mean you can't use this as a professional, especially since you get all the tools that you receive with other similar software solutions, but it might seem a tad too simplistic for some.
