Professional audio production has evolved tremendously in the last decades, and the transitioning the classic analog tools and features to a digital medium have been achieved through multiple means, some basic and some more complex. By far, one of the most important factors in that direction was the deployment and use of plugins, in order to emulate features that are commonly found in the analog mixer scene.

iZotope Neutron 3 is one such plugin, which was created specifically in order to offer users the means to enhance their audio mixing process, in whichever host console they might be using. The plugin actually contains a series of sub-modules, each with different purposes, addressing some of the most common and required features in music production.

Some of the highlights of iZotope Neutron 3 are its built-in assistant, which will automatically determine a base level for an initial mix after a single playback process, a collection of 25 different instruments into the “Sculptor” module, as well as an enhanced processing engine, which ensures that only half of RAM and one-third of CPU power are assigned.

Last but not least, the included masking meter feature allows users to cut and carve space across concurrent audio tracks, simultaneously, being seamlessly integrated with the other modules.
