Autobeat Player

Autobeat is an Electron-based application that aims to unify all your music sources. More to the point, its main highlight is the fact that it allows you to listen to music from your local machine, from YouTube, and Soundcloud.

The application is fairly competent when it comes to helping you discover new music, and it also provides you with the options to import music from your iTunes library, as well as import YouTube and Soundcloud playlist.

Everything looks rather well once in place mainly thanks to a modern and clear-cut user interface. The UI layout is neatly chosen, with the self-explanatory section like Library, Devices, Playlist, and Channels on the left side of the main window and the actual player located in the bottom part.

Of course, the fact that the app automatically retrieves missing cover art has a significant role to play when it comes to overall looks. Since we're on the subject of looks, it's worth pointing out you are provided with two GUI themes, one suitable for very well lit environments, and the other for darker ones.

It's also available as a macOS app, and there's a mobile version currently in the works as well, which should make the whole experience better. The app does not have any special requirements, and the installation process is as simple as they get. However, it almost goes without saying that your computer requires an active Internet connection in order to use the YouTube and Soundcloud services.

Taking everything into account, Autobeat is off to a great start even though it still needs a bit more work here and there. For example, we haven't been able to locate the app's equalizer. It offers support for media keys and keyboard shortcuts, although, we have yet to find a comprehensive list within the app or the official website.
