Each user goes their own way when it comes to listening to music. Some prefer using streaming services, others prefer watching music videos on YouTube, and so on. There are some users who like going off the grid and listening to their tunes locally, which is always an option.

If you're on the lookout for a tool to help you download your favorite songs from YouTube, music-player might be worth a try. Though it may have a nondescript name, this is a usable and easy-to-configure way of listening to your songs, while also downloading them to your drive.

This is a tool that can both be classified as a downloader and music player. Once the user types in the relevant YouTube URL for their song, the program will begin downloading it.

Usually this takes no more than a few seconds, but your network connection does play a role here. This happens only for songs you haven't yet listened to through the program: after downloading your tunes, you're free to go offline and listen that way.

The program seems to use yt-dlp to handle the downloading, which we haven't encountered any issues with. Pressing Ctrl+F will take you to the download folder, where you'll be able to listen to your songs in a different player, relocate them somewhere else, and so forth.

As for the program's music player prerogatives, there's not much to talk about. Downloaded songs will play right away, and you'll be able to rewind, modify their speed, as well as loop your favorite tunes. There's a Dark mode available, so if you don't prefer the Light version, you can always use that one.

music-player may not be anything particularly fancy, but for what it's supposed to do, it does it without any issues.
