MIDI files store information about one or multiple tracks, such as which notes should be played, their order and how long each of them is held. Because these files do not contain any actual audio data, they take up very little disk space, but a specialized application is needed to play them.

The application enables you to load a single audio file at a time, but it is worth noting that drag and drop actions are not supported.

Once a MIDI file has been loaded, you can view all the available tracks in the main program window, along with their titles and note data. Each of them is assigned a specific color to make them easier to recognize.

Aside from starting and pausing playback, no other actions can be performed, such as altering the audio volume, adjusting the pitch frequency, reverb, modulation and so on.

Nevertheless, it is worth noting that the application is very intuitive, and it enables you to select the MIDI device you wish to use from a convenient drop-down list.

MIDIPlayer is a lightweight and easy-to-use application that, true to its name, enables you to play MIDI files on your PC. It does not offer an extensive array of features, but its minimalistic design may be appreciated by less demanding users.
