Music Blaster

Music Blaster is a small media player designed specifically for helping you open video and audio files. It only works with MP3 and DAT file format so it is not capable of opening other audio and video formats (e.g. WAV, OGG, FLV, 3GP, MP4, AVI).

The GUI looks outdated so it needs several enhancements to make it easier for you to listen to songs and watch videos. Files can be imported in the working environment using the built-in browse button (the drag-and-drop support is not implemented).

You can change the looks of the tool by choosing between three colorful themes (Blue, Orange, and Gray). The utility shows several speakers in the main window and on your desktop, and allows you to hide them.

Music Blaster gives you the possibility to build a list with your favorite files, create playlists by specifying a suggestive name, seek for a position in the audio/video frames, play, pause or stop the current selection, jump to the next or previous item from the list, as well as adjust the volume.

What’s more, you are allowed to delete items from the playlist or clear the entire workspace with a single click, remove playlists, and activate a full screen display.

Tests have shown that Music Blaster carries out a task quickly. It is friendly with system resources so the overall performance of the computer is not affected.

One of program’s drawbacks is that when you switch between the audio and video panel, it is not able to remember the imported files. Creating playlists is your only chance to store favorite files. The program lacks support for advanced features so you cannot export playlists to M3U file format, search for subtitles online, and access online radio stations, just to name a few suggestions.

To sum things up, Music Blaster is not a rich-featured media player. It comes packed with limited playback capabilities and is suitable especially for less experienced users.
