Create playlists in a dedicated panel, then enjoy all of your favorite songs and artists in a simple, practical player, with an intuitive set of controls #Play audio #Audio player #Create playlist #Player #Play #Create
In case you don’t have your headphones connected to your phone to listen to music, or even your dedicated player, chances are you’re doing so on the computer. However, you need a dedicated application that can read and play songs, with a large variety of choices at your disposal, just like MusicMenu, in case Windows Media Player doesn’t tickle your fancy.
One advantage in particular is that the application can be carried around on a USB flash drive, which means you can take your collection of songs with you and play it wherever you plug the specific drive into. This also means that the target PC’s health status remains intact, because registries don’t need to be modified for features to work.
You might notice there are two executables included in the package, one that is the actual application, while the other can be used in order to create playlists. This has a major impact on overall practicality, and there isn’t even a way to trigger the other component from a window menu.
The playlist editor is pretty simple, with two panels used to select files. One of them lets you browse through folders, while the other shows all files inside, but is also the list that represents the final playlist. For better analysis, you might want to use the file mask field to specify the desired format for the files you want to include.
Once saved, you can open the playlist in MusicMenu. It needs to be in the same folder, otherwise the list and select options show absolutely nothing. Unfortunately, the player itself is rough around the edges, with only three playback buttons, to play/pause, and navigate back and forth. There’s not even a volume slider, so you need to rely on the system one.
Taking everything into consideration, we can say that MusicMenu leaves a lot more to be desired, offering a poor set of features for what it wants to deliver. The playlist editor and the player itself are two independent components, while the amount of options at your disposal makes you quickly look for alternatives.
