A simple audio player written in Java with a built-in equalizer, library builder, and possibility to create playlists to enjoy your favorite songs and artists #Audio Player #Java Player #MP3 Player #Player #Play #Listen
In case your Internet connection is not stable enough so you can enjoy flawless streaming of favorite songs or radio shows, you most likely use desktop applications for offline playback. The category of audio players is full of alternatives to your existing one, and in case you’re looking for something new, MyJPlayer is worth a shot.
One of the things that convince you to at least take a look at the set of features is that you don’t even need to go through a setup process, which means you can even carry it around on a USB flash drive. However, you need to make sure that the computer you use it on is fitted with Java Runtime Environment for things to go as planned.
The visual design might not make as much of an impression as portability, with a rough design that seems to take too much desktop space. Playback buttons are way too large, while elements don’t really seem to fit right. The main tab lets you work with general player controls and manage the playlist, while the other is dedicated to the library, for better management of your audio collection.
Files first need to be added to the playlist, which can either be done by picking them individually, or targeting an entire folder. You can also import existing ones, and save the new playlists you create to load them later on.
Apart from file import options, there’s the possibility to edit lyrics, and even grab them from the Internet, but there’s a chance the process fails to retrieve for most songs. You can use a built-in 10 band equalizer to enhance sound, but there aren’t any presets to work with. Sadly, hotkeys are not supported so you need to use the main window each time you want to change the song, or even pause one.
Taking everything into consideration, we can say that MyJPlayer is a straightforward audio player, but it feels rough around the edges overall. Supported files are not indicated, and you can have a hard time manually picking something other than MP3. Unfortunately, it’s probably not going to suit your needs or style if you’re looking to replace the player you’re already using.
