Multimedia files come under different shapes and file formats, depending on the content they’re used in, as well as the overall purpose. Regardless of the case, a dedicated offline player needs to be installed on your computer for proper playback, and in case you’re looking for something fresh, SZH's Media Player might just be what you need.

It takes a little while to go through the setup process and make the application properly function. However, before everything can work you also need to make sure that the target PC is equipped with .NET Framework.

Running the application only brings up the window you get to preview all items in. On the other hand, the installation process makes sure pictures, audio, and video files are associated, but there’s no prompt to ask whether you’re OK with this or on. There’s no dedicated option to change this assignment later on, so it needs to be handled from the operating system default functions.

As far as the visual design is concerned, it sports a clean, but rather rough arrangement of elements, even if mouse interaction and highlighting of elements triggers a somewhat cool effect. With assignment done by default, files can either be launched directly or dropped over the main window. The application is able to process pictures, music, and videos under different formats.

However, playback of either formats is plain. There’s no built-in playlist editor to handle multiple requests or save lists for later operations. This goes for all file formats. Hotkeys are not integrated, and the only method of operating an active playback is through the main window.

Taking everything into consideration, we can state that SZH's Media Player comes with good intentions, but not enough depth in the set of features to practically fulfill even plain requirements. The visual design is rough, with no extra playback elements like playlist or hotkey support.
