Essentially, what you see is what you get, and the program will start building your music library based on the songs you have in your Documents folder. The program looks nice, and should work decently for the most part, but it's not uncommon to run into a few hiccups. As it's only an Alpha release, it's to be expected.

An issue that occurred quite frequently for us involved the program refusing to play certain songs. When clicking to play a certain track, the program would instantly skip it, and play something else instead. Perhaps this may be related to how it recognizes music files, but it should be fixed in later updates.

Sing is a decidedly simple music player. It should do the job for casual music listeners who just want a nice-looking player for their tunes. Given that it's still an Alpha release, this is quite a promising new program, despite the bugs that one may encounter.
