Audio player with up to nine different slots to use, with options to load individual files or playlists, and loop playback for continuous entertainment #Audio player #Media player #Theater environment #Play #Player #Theater
Audio tracks are used as resources in a wide array of activities, which can mean simple playback for your own comfort, or mixing them together to entertain a crowd. Sure enough, a dedicated audio player needs to be used, with an abundance of tools at your disposal. As such, Sonius comes with the means to mix multiple tracks together.
Before you even attempt to go through the setup process, it’s a good idea to make sure that your computer is fitted with .NET Framework, because it’s a mandatory requirement for functionality. It runs right after setup is over, giving you a chance to check out the set of features in no time at all.
As far as the visual design goes, it mostly populated with classic window elements which don’t really make it stand out from the crowd. There are up to 9 different slots to use, each with its own set of playback options. File support isn’t great, but you can load some common audio file formats such as WAV and MP3, as well as M3U and PLS playlists.
The application wants to be a mixer so you can initiate continuous playback of multiple audio files or playlists, or simply add effects to existing tracks. Although drag and drop is not supported as an import option, the browse dialog is easy enough to use. There’s also a loop function attached to each set of playback options.
Your configurations can be saved for quick import later on, and there’s also an option to always start with a specific profile. Unfortunately, the application is far from reaching its goal as a mixer, or even audio player. Playback controls only consist of a play and pause toggle button, with no playlist viewer, progress slider, or possibility to adjust volume for slots.
In conclusion, Sonius wants to help you enhance parties by mixing up to 9 different tracks together, but lacks even basic playback operations to achieve this goal. Although you can load entire playlists, there’s no way to view or skip tracks, while playback controls are incredibly poor to be useful even as a regular audio player.
