Tiny MP4

Tiny MP4 is a lightweight tool which allows you to play media files with the MP4 and M4A format, as well as convert them to WAV audio tracks.

The interface of the application is based on a small window in which you can use either the file browser or "drag and drop" method to import media files into the list. Batch processing is supported.

You can use basic media player functions, such as pause and stop, navigate back and forth within the stream and adjust the volume.

In order to initiate the conversion process, all you have to do is specify the output directory (same as the original files or custom) and press the "Save to wav" button.

You can configure audio settings when it comes to the equalizer, bit rate and mode, as well as edit tags (e.g. author, title, comment, year), display lyrics, enable silent mode and set Tiny MP4 to stay on top of other processes.

The small application requires a moderate amount of system resources, has a good response time, quickly finishes a conversion job and manages to keep a good sound quality. However, there is no help file available. Also, Tiny MP4 seems to have some compatibility issues with Windows 7 (we didn't manage to convert any songs).

Tiny MP4 comes bundled with the essential elements for playing and converting MP4 files. Even if it doesn't bring something new to the table, we suggest you take a look for yourself to see if Tiny MP4 fits your preferences.
