Spotify has become the go-to platform for numerous users all around the world, mostly due to its support for portable devices.

However, if you typically use it on your computer and are looking for a stripped down version of it, you can try lofi.

Before getting to enjoy the functions of lofi, you first need to make sure your Spotify client is up and running, and that your account is logged in.

Next, you need to authorize lofi within Spotify, so that a connection can be established.

Once all the steps have been completed, lofi automatically displays the title of the current track and the artist name. You can easily pause or resume music with a single mouse click.

Skipping to the next song might not be available, due to restrictions imposed by your account type (the free account does not allow you to jump to the next song or skip ads).

If you want to always view the metadata of your Spotify track, you can set the main window of the app to be shown always on top, in the same position on the screen every time you launch lofi.

Due to lofi, you can view the cover art associated with the song or album, but you can also switch to visualizations. The app offers you the possibility to enter full-screen mode and enjoy the visualization to the fullest.

There are several types of visualizations included within the application, yet you can design your own custom ones if you are proficient in GLSL.

Lofi can help you enjoy your preferred tracks from Spotify, without needing to keep its main window open at all times. The main window of lofi is significantly smaller, meaning that it occupies very little space so you can focus on other tasks.
