A VST plugin with four OSC sound layers, each with its own delay, filter, and LFO router, and easy management through ADSR knobs, and other related specifications #MIDI automation #Delay effect #Low frequency oscillator #VST #Oscillator #LFO
Your computer can be equipped with quite the variety of processors you can use to create just about anything with little effort, and knowledge. Music makes no exception here, and with a connected MIDI device, proper host, and cool plugins like DSK ThoR, output might just land on the background audio layer of the next blockbuster, or video game.
Since it’s an audio plugin, you need to integrate it into suitable hosts like VSTHost for it to function, with no executable of its own. It can be easily carried around on a thumb drive along with your entire collection of effects to use on the go.
You’re free to link it to any input or output devices and blocks inside the host. Effects can be handled in real time, which is especially useful in the recording process. You might want to keep the configuration panel up for this operation, with a large variety of knobs and sliders to adjust sound accordingly.
The plugin comes with four different slots of effects you can use simultaneously. Delay tabs are the only ones which can be turned off, so if you want to cancel a specific layer, you need to turn the volume knob to zero. Luckily, each general tab is fitted with its own volume control, and there’s also a general one to manage all effects at a time.
Main configurations refer to open sound control (OSC). By default, all of them are active, with the possibility to fit them with one of several samples like sine, sawtooth, triangle, square, or noise. Octave is selected from a dedicated drop-down menu. Additional knobs let you fine tune, pan, or handle ADSR.
For every OSC layer, there’s an associated filter, delay manager, and LFO router. Filters can be directed towards low, high, or band pass, band reject, or peaking, with knobs for cutoff, res, track, amount, and ADSR. As mentioned above, delay can be turned off, with controls for each layer. The specific effect’s feedback, mixer, and duration can be set by turning several knobs.
All things considered, we come to the conclusion that DSK ThoR is a powerful sound oscillation, and effects manipulator you can use to greatly enhance your musical creations. Multiple layers can be used, each with its own set of filters, and effects, while management is easily done through corresponding sliders to emit the sound you want.
