Flutterbird

In many genres of music both old and new, fluctuations of sound are often used as audio effects. These variations have many names; the fluctuation of the volume is called tremolo, while the fluctuation of the pitch is called vibrato. The effect is also known as flutter or wow.

When producing music, you may want to add some flutter to some instrumental parts, or even to some vocals. There are many ways to achieve this by using external plugins or even the tools that come with your digital audio workstation. Flutterbird is an audio plugin that offers a simple solution for adding the desired effects.

The plugin’s interface dons an uncomplicated design where the features are very clear. There are four separate oscillators, each with adjustable speed. Each of the four can modify the incoming audio input’s pitch, volume, or both. As with any oscillator, you are able to change the signal’s waveform into either sine, triangle, saw, or square, but you can also choose the Drift option. The interface features knobs that allow you to modify the total amount of pitch and volume flutter that you wish to add to your incoming audio, and also a mix knob.
