Triggering a sound effect through a hotkey is an idea that likely many of us had at least once. Whether it's a goofy sound effect you have in mind, or something entirely different, such as a song, being able to trigger it directly by pressing a hotkey can be a pretty cool and fun thing.

If you were looking for a tool that would enable you to do so, then Mega Soundboard should be just the software for the job. It's a simple, modern app that facilitates the process of organizing your sound files and triggering them through hotkeys.

At first glance, the software takes a very simple approach to granting users control over their sounds. All that you need to get started is locate the sounds you wish to work with: .MP3, .WAV, and .OGG are the supported extensions, so you shouldn't run into any compatibility problems with the software.

Once a sound is added, you have an opportunity to assign a keybind to play it. The keybind can be just a single key, or multiple. You can also adjust the volume of the sound from the same screen.

After adding a few sounds, it's time to start playing them. It's entirely up to you whether to assign hotkeys for each of them, or trigger a soundboard to play multiple sounds with a keybind.
