AMF Audio Extractor

Wanting to extract audio from a video file is more common than you would think. This is a very common phenomenon with music videos, as users look to save space while still enjoying their favorite tunes. Those who download from YouTube should know this all too well by now.

If you’ve already got a few videos stored on your computer, and are looking to extract audio from them, AMF Audio Extractor can help. It features a generous list of supported formats, both video and audio, to enable a smooth workflow.

The program should be straightforward enough to work with for any type of user. The usual workflow is inputting your videos: either the folder where they’re located, or selecting individual files, and optionally, configuring the audio extraction.

Configuration-wise, this is all fairly standard as you can select your preferred output format, as well as the bit rate for your audio. Note that .MP3, .M4A, .WMA, .WAV, and .ALAC are the supported audio extensions, which should cover a wide enough range of uses. Don’t forget to change the bit rate to something higher quality: the default 96 kBit/s really doesn’t cut it in this day and age.

Regarding the supported video formats, the list is really quite generous. .MP4, .AVI, .MKV, .WMV, and even .HEVC, are just a few of the entries in the supported list.

The audio extractor worked well during my testing. It handled the process without any delay, and I didn’t experience any odd behavior. I’ll have to say I wasn’t a fan of the ads that appeared on the interface, however. Initially, they are not too intrusive.

That changes a bit once you’ve extracted a few audio tracks, as the program will display a full page of ads on its interface, essentially obstructing all elements. You can easily dismiss it, thankfully.

AMF Audio Extractor worked fine during my use. While I’m not a fan of the ad-supported nature of the program, it did extract my audio and performed up to expectations.
