Guitar Tuner is a small software application developed with a single goal in mind: to help you tune your guitar by listening to the sound of a certain chord. The tool can be deployed on all Windows versions out there.

The program does not impress much in the visual department. It reveals a plain and small layout that incorporates only a few configuration settings. A help manual is not available. However, you do not need one to decode the utility’s dedicated parameters because they look easy to work with.

Guitar Tuner offers you the possibility to simply press on one of the integrated chords from the main window in order to hear the corresponding sound. By default, the tool plays the sound in a loop mode until you press on another chord and allows you stop the playback with a single click.

You can quickly switch from one tone to another and place the minimalistic panel to the desired desktop position. On the downside, you cannot keep the primary window on top of other programs.

Tests have pointed out that Guitar Tuner carries out a task quickly and without errors. It does not eat up a lot of CPU and memory resources so the overall performance of the system is not hampered. You may keep it running in the background.

To sum things up, Guitar Tuner comes packed with nothing more than a simplistic suite of options for helping you tune your guitar. It is suitable especially for less experienced users who need to get a general idea about the sound of a certain chord. The tool does not offer support for advanced features so you cannot work with a metronome, increase/decrease the volume, and mute the sound, just to name a few suggestions.
